Father rapes daughter, arrested

Mumbai: A 17-year-old girl is six-month pregnant after her father allegedly raped her when she was alone at home. The Navi Mumbai police arrested the girl’s father on Monday after she narrated the ordeal to her mother, who approached the police on Sunday.

 A Police officer said, “ The girl is studying in college. Her mother was in the Nagpur when the crime took place.”

Father of the girl works as a labourer in the APMC market. He came home in drunken state and after  finding the girl alone he raped her. Police officer said, “The accused allegedly tied up her mouth and hand so that she could not shout. He also threatened her saying he will throw her as well as her mother out of the house.

The girl didn’t realise she was pregnant until her mother returned home during Diwali. That’s when she noticed her husband’s weird behaviour towards her daughter.

A police officer said, “ In December her mother realised something’s wrong with her daughter. Later when she approached doctor they  realised that the girl is six months pregnant. On 29th December, victim’s mother heard conversation between her husband and daughter, upon asking several times the daughter    told her about the incident. Later Mother approached APMC police station to file the complaint.”

APMC police registered case under POSCO and IPC 376. and IPC 376.
