Mumbai: Another victim has approached the magistrate court against Sunil Kulkarni, alleged cult guru and founder of Shifu Sankriti, taking the total number of victims to five, including two girls.

A boy in early twenties has submitted an application in the court. He has alleged that Kulkarni influenced and encouraged him to stay away from his parents.

There is also suspicion that Kulkarni duped young girls by promising them modelling assignments and clicked their pictures in scantily clad clothing. A team of Mumbai crime branch is in Delhi to ascertain the identity of these women, who are likely to be from the national capital.

Officials said that Kulkarni was staying in Delhi for few years and came to Mumbai after a case under the provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was registered against him for targeting an underage girl.

“We are probing if Kulkarni made any monetary gain from any of these five victims in the latest case. We trying to find a link in the national capital that would lead us to those who had come in contact with Kulkarni during his stay there,” said a crime branch officer.

There are at least five cases registered against Kulkarni in Pune, Nagpur and Delhi. These include sexual assault, cheating and extortion. In Nagpur, he promised several people that he would help them to get admission for MBBS courses, claiming to be a doctor and duped them.

He has duped several persons in Delhi by taking money from them and promising modelling assignments, officials said. The police is also coordinating with the concerned police to get details of these cases too.  Claiming to be a psychiatrist, Kulkarni was administrating anti-depressant tablets ‘Tryptom-ER-10gm’, which were also seized from his rented apartment in Khar.
