MP: Name Dadar metro stn after Sena Bhavan

Mumbai: Shiv Sena MP Anil Desai has demanded that Dadar metro station on the Mumbai metro three line be named after Shiv Sena Bhavan due to its proximity to the party headquarters.

In a letter written to chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, the Rajya Sabha MP has said that Shiv Sena Bhavan is just next to the Dadar metro station and hence, it be named “Shiv Sena Bhavan” metro station.

“Under the Mumbai metro three project, Dadar station has been under construction near Shiv Sena Bhavan. However, the Central Railway (CR) and Western Railway (WR) already have two major stations named after Dadar and there is no need of duplication of that name by the metro,” said Mr Desai.

The historic Shiv Sena Bhavan set up by Sena supremo Balasaheb Thackeray is located just next to the metro station. The monument has been witness to the son of the soil movement, he said.
