West Bengal: Parents protest against fee hike

Kolkata: Angry guardians demonstrated outside a school in Sonarpur of South 24 Parganas over exhorbitant fees on Wednesday. Some of them were allegedly assaulted by a group of men. In the morning the parents of the students of B.D. Memorial International School of EM Bypass at Pratapgarh blocked Kamalgaji-Garia Road. 

One round of protests took place on Tuesday. According to them, the school authorities raised the tution fees by Rs 1,000 barely four months ago. Recently a notice was given by the school authorities seeking development fees, they claimed alleging that they were not consulted even. Many guardians had complained that they wanted to talk to the school principal. Suddenly a group of men came to the spot and attacked the guardians including women. Furious over the attack, the guardians united and retaliated.
