New governor Jagdeep Dhankhar arrives
He will take oath as governor of West Bengal at 12.30 pm on Tuesday.
Kolkata: Governor-designate Jagdeep Dhankhar along with his wife Sudesh Dhankhar arrived Raj Bhavan on Monday morning.
He will take oath as governor of West Bengal at 12.30 pm on Tuesday.
Chief minister Mamata Banerjee, along with other dignitaries, is scheduled to be present at the swearing-in programme.
At 10.55 am Mr Dhankhar's convoy entered the Raj Bhavan through the North gate. Additional chief secretary to the governor Satish Chandra Tewary alongwith other government officials received the governor-designate at Raj Bhavan.
Standing on the grand staircase of the North facade, the governor-designate took the guard of honour by the Kolkata Police. Later Mr Dhankhar met the officers and the staffs. He then walked through the grand heritage building and inspected a part of it.
