CM Mamata Banerjee's note ban protests in Delhi will fail: BJP
Kolkata: Continuing his tirade against chief minister Mamata Banerjee, state BJP president Dilip Ghosh on Tuesday said that Ms Banerjee would return to West Bengal empty handed in her fight for the black money.
Ms Banerjee is presently in Delhi and she attended the meeting of opposition parties today which was convened by the Congress.
“Her trips to Delhi will not yield a result. No one will share stage with her as everybody knows that she has been doing a drama in the name of her fight against note ban. This will be a huge loss of face for her and she will return to the state empty handed,” Mr Ghosh said. Out of 16 Opposition parties, only eight attended the meeting today including Trinamul Congress. Both Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi and TMC chief Mamata Banerjee intensified their attack against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and asked him to take responsibility and resign from the post if the difficulties faced by the common man did not end. The state unit of BJP wasted no time to counter the CM soon after she attended the meeting.
“The ruling party MLAs made black money with the help of co-operative banks in the state. We have information that there are three such banks where some TMC MLAs have kept unaccounted cash. The income tax department is monitoring the transactions in these banks.
Ms Banerjee is making a hue and cry because she wants to protect the black money. However she will not succeed,” Mr Ghosh added.
