Patient, 32, escapes from hospital, kin lodge plaint

Kolkata: A patient fled from Nil Ratan Sircar Medical College and Hospital (NRSMCH) under mysterious circumstances on Friday. Family members of Mashiar Rahman Sheikh (32) alleged that when they went to meet him in the morning he could not be found.

They have lodged a complaint of missing at the police out-post of the hospital.

Mashiar was injured in a bike accident at Nusratpur in Burdwan East in the middle of the week. He was rushed to Kalna Hospital from where he was referred to Burdwan Medical College and Hospital.

On Thursday afternoon the youth was shifted to NRSMCH after his condition worsened.

He was wheeled into the neurology department, according to sources. His family members claimed that he was kept in a trolley as he failed to move on his own.

When they enquired about his disappearance to the doctors, they alleged that they were not given any cooperation. Till the reports last came, Mashiar is yet to be found.
