Youth Congress leaders scuffle with cops, 3 held
Police had put up barricades to prevent the protesters from advancing towards the BJP party office in Central Avenue.

Kolkata: Three state Youth Congress workers were arrested on Monday after they scuffled with police outside BJP headquarters in West Bengal.
The Youth Congress workers on Monday organised a protest movement outside the BJP’s state office headquarters to protest against the Central government’s decision to demonetise high-value currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 denominations.
The police had put up barricades to prevent the protesters from advancing towards the BJP party office in Central Avenue.
However, a minor scuffle ensued between police personnel and Youth Congress workers after they tried to break the barricade. This caused huge traffic snarls in Central Avenue and the police had to disperse the workers to restore normalcy in the area. As a result three Youth Congress workers were arrested by police. Later they burnt an effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to mark their protest.
