Kolkata: The Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) expressed its gratitude to CESC engineers for their quick action into a fire at a sub-station at B.T. Road recently. On May 3 afternoon the fire broke out at the sub-station at 203 B.T. Road campus that supplies electricity to the major part of the ISI.

Indian Statistical Institute chief executive Brig. Jagadish Narayan Pandey said, “The fire was immediately brought to the notice of CESC and the response of the CESC team was prompt and positive. It is because of the timely committed response that any major accident could be averted and the situation was restored to normal in a very short time. ISI is really grateful to the whole team of CESC for their immediate response and considerate approach towards the crisis due to which such a mega breakdown could be handled in such a measurable time.”
