Today, CM Mamata starts 4-day trip to Coochbehar, Alipurduar

Kolkata: Chief minister Mamata Banerjee will set off on a four day tour to Coochbehar and Alipurduar district on Monday, where she is scheduled to hold administrative meetings and government programmes in both the districts during her tour.

According to sources in the state secretariat, the chief minister will hold administrative meeting in Coochbehar on Monday and will attend a government programme on Tuesday where she will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate some developmental projects. On Wednesday, she will travel to Alipurduar and hold an administrative meeting.

Ms Banerjee’s government programme will be held at Birpara Circus Ground. Her programme was first scheduled to be held near Subhasini tea garden at Hasimara. “The chief minister had instructed her party leaders to shift the venue for the meeting as this area falls under a constituency which is held by the BJP,” a top district leader said.

Having said that the BJP was the TMC’s main opposition in the state, Ms Banerjee had urged her partymen to be alert and ensure that ensure that CPI(M) members did not move to the BJP.
