Kolkata: Union minister Babul Supriyo was again greeted with black flags by TMC workers. This time the protest against the BJP MP from Asansol took place in Malda where he had gone to attend a state executive committee meeting.

“BJP StateExec meet in Malda today and tomorrow. TMC goons outside the circuit house gate where we r staying. No police as usual. How blatantly shameless (sic),” tweeted the leader. The protest took place outside the circuit house in which Mr Supriyo was staying.

Later, the minister came to the venue of the BJP state executive meeting with a police escort. Mr Supriyo reported this to BJP general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya, who is the party’s co-observer for West Bengal. The Union minister also alleged that his room in the Circuit House had no water supply.

“No water in my room at the Circuit House. I have to arrange for water from outside,” he told reporters.

Mr Vijayvargiya claimed that 40 incidents of riots have taken place since Mamata Banerjee became the CM in 2011. "The police were siding with the rioters," he alleged.
