Kolkata: BJP leader Ritesh Tiwari on Wednesday wondered why no action has been taken against Trinamul Congress MLA and Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Mayor Sabyasachi Dutta by chief minister Mamata Banerjee even after he has been accused of demanding extortion of Rs 30
lakhs from a businessman.

He also referred the arrest of Trinamul councillor of the BMC Anindya Chatterjee by the police on the instruction of the chief minister after Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina called her up and complained to her about the extortion by Mr Chatterjee from one of her relatives in Salt Lake.

Mr Tiwari tweeted, “The ppl of West Bengal wants to know d decision of @MamataOfficial against #BMC Mayor.Or She is waiting for the phone call for taking action like She had done earlier after call from Bangladesh PM.W
hy is the Media dumb now ?” On Tuesday a 55-yea-old businessman, Madhusudan Chakraborty from Salt Lake accused Mr Dutta of demanding Rs 30 lakhs as extortion. He claimed that the
heavyweight Trinamul MLA ordered him to pay him Rs 30 lakhs for the Assembly Elections in Tripura.

While Mr Chakraborty lodged a complaint against him with the police, Mr Dutta however denied the allegations on him saying he does not know him even.
