Cabbie arrested for letting passenger molest woman

Kolkata: The airport police arrested a cab driver on charges of allowing a passenger molest an airhostess of a leading airlines on her way to the airport while both of them were riding his shuttle taxi on Wednesday evening.

Police sources informed that the complainant was travelling from Kaikhali to the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Airport in a shuttle taxi when a fellow passenger sitting beside her in the rear seat allegedly made indecent proposals and molested her. The victim asked the taxi driver to stop the vehicle but he refused. 

As soon as the woman alighted at the airport, the taxi fled away with the offender. 

The airport police station took up the investigation on the basis of the woman’s complaint and the number of the vehicle that she provided them and arrested the driver Uday Kumar. 

“We are looking for the prime accused who had boarded the cab from Joramandir area in Baguihati,” a police officer said.
