Kolkata: A teenaged girl, who had been missing for the past three days, was found hanging at a room of CIT Building under mysterious circumstances on Saturday morning. The deceased, Piu Biswas (17), was a resident of Beliaghata Main Road.

At around 11.40 am, she was found hanging with a dupatta tied around her neck from the ceiling fan in the room number 59 on the second floor of Block 7C. Piu was rushed to Nil Ratan Sircar Medical College and Hospital where she was declared brought dead.

The body was sent for post-mortem. The flat where Piu was hanging is owned by a man identified as Subrata Bhattacharya. Piu’s mother used to work there as a caretaker. Piu was missing since March 6.

Her family members, however, alleged foul play in her death. They claimed that she was murdered. They also have lodged a complaint at the Beliaghata police station. Sources revealed that a youth was after the girl for a long time.

The police has initiated a case under Sections 306 (abetment to suicide) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code.
