West Bengal: man posts movie still, says it is riot violence, arrested

Kolkata: A man was arrested by the cyber crime wing of the Kolkata police on Friday night for posting a scene of a movie claiming it captured the atrocities in Baduria of North 24 Parganas. 

The accused, Bhabatosh Chatterjee (38), is a resident of Rupnagar at Gorkhara in Sonarpur of South 24 Parganas. One Debasis Dutta lodged a complaint against him with the cyber police station. 

Joint commissioner of police (crime) Vishal Garg said, “He had uploaded a still picture of a movie and was trying to push that in, claiming to be a true picture of atrocities going on in Baduria.” During the raid, a cellphone and a laptop were recovered from his residence. 

On Saturday, Bhabatosh was produced before the chief metropolitan magistrate who has remanded him in the police custody till July 11.
