Kolkata: A tunnel over two dozen compartments was found at a house of an aged man, claiming to be a follower of godman Ram Rahim, by his neighbours who raided there suspecting that flesh trade was underway.

Pramod Singhania, the accused, however fled before the local residents arrived.

He stays at Shambhu Mullick Lane in Burrabazar. His neighbours grew suspicious after frequent visits of young couples to his house over the past two years. On December 25, 2017, some of them found a couple in a compromising position. They complained to the police that the house-owner was running a flesh trade racket.

Pramod was, however, alerted of their complaint. After which he disappeared. On Friday, the locals went to his house for a search, but they could not find Pramod. According to them, Pramod used to claim himself to be a devotee of Ram Rahim and he played religious songs aloud at home to cover up the illegal business he was into.

While searching the house, the locals discovered the long tunnel which has around 26 compartments where they alleged the flesh trade racket was run. The tunnel has an exit leading to the road. Pramod is suspected to have fled through the tunnel. A few bio-data of women were recovered.
