TMC councillor molested, 6 held
Mr Haldar’s house was locked by the police. A booking for Rs 20,000 to a man for wedding function has also been cancelled.
Kolkata: A Trinamul Congress councillor of the Sonarpur-Rajpur Municipality was allegedly molested in Sonarpur of South 24 Parganas.
She had gone to check the house of one Gobinda Haldar, who came under the civic body’s scanner for renting out his premises without having a licence for social programmes, including wedding.
Besides, the owner of the premises has stalled the repair work on the road in front of his house.
The victim councillor claimed that Mr Das, his wife and their two daughters attacked her during the visit. They were also accompanied by two youth who molested her while others assaulted her.
Later, the woman councillor lodged a complaint at the Sonarpur police station. The police detained six persons for questioning.
Mr Haldar’s house was locked by the police. A booking for Rs 20,000 to a man for wedding function has also been cancelled.
Mr Haldar also lodged a complaint against the councillor with the police.
