Chinsurah MLA pulled up for misuse of funds
Chinsurah MLA Asit Mazumder earned the ire of the CM for allegedly misuing funds in the construction of a stadium.
Kolkata: Chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday was critical about some of the senior leaders in Hooghly, allegedly for trying to shield criminals and accepting money in connection with projects or lobbying for a project in their constituency areas.
Chinsurah MLA Asit Mazumder earned the ire of the CM for allegedly misuing funds in the construction of a stadium.
“Does it require Rs 14 crore for a stadium? Don’t try to act smart and try to make me understand absurd things. Don’t indulge in the practice of accepting commission for a stadium project,” Ms Banerjee warned.
The chief minister further made it clear that the construction of the stadium should not involve more than Rs 5 crore.
