Santoor maestro on US tour to raise funds

Kolkata: The philanthropist in Kolkata-based santoor maestro Pandit Tarun Bhattacharya has always been a rare quality over the decades.

His work towards polio eradication campaign has been truly inspiring so has been efforts to raise funds and awareness campaign and now he embarks on a “18 concert USA tour” from mi-September till end of October 2018 for “Support a Child Mission” across United States of America.

The entire fund raising initiatives are for 148 orphanages across India and recently the Santoor maestro Traun Bhattacharya visited one of the orphanages situated in Howrah along with Guru Sanchita Bhattacharya, who is also part of the tour and felt touched by the children and expressed his deep desire to do his bit for these children.

Pandit Bhattacharya’s motto in life is: “India First” and he feels that music is the path for him to return to the future of India all that he has earned over the decades. The orphanage takes care of over 80,000 orphans across India.

Apart from his solo concerts Pandit Tarun Bhattacharya shall also team up with Guru Sanchita and present Music Meets Bell. In 2014 the maestro and his spouse Guru Sanchita had raised money for Shankara Eye Foundation in India through 14 concerts in the USA.

Pandit Tarun Bhattacharya shall also feature in a charity concert at the Premashraya Centre of Tata Medical Centre at Rajarhat Kolkata on 4th September 2018 for the cancer patients on behalf of Rotary Clubs prior to his departure for the charity programs in the USA.

The programmes are scheduled at Hartford (Sept. 15), New Jersey (Sept. 16), Philadelphia (Sept. 17), Boston (Sept 21), Dallas (Sept 22), Houston (Sept 23), Detroit (Sept. 28), Cincinnati (Sept. 29), Columbus (Sept. 30), Cleveland (Oct. 5), Pittsburgh (Oct. 6), Allentown (Oct. 7), Naratri (Oct. 12), Navratri (Oct 13), Navratri (Oct 14), Indianapolis (Oct 19), Chicago (Oct 20), Greenbay (Oct 21), Atlanta ( Oct 26), Irvine, CA (Oct 27), SF, CA (Oct 28) respectively.
