Martyr served in CRPF against mom’s wishes

Pune: Ravindra Dhanawade, who was killed in a terror attack at c, Kashmir on Saturday, had extended his service in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) against the wishes of his mother, who wanted him to return home and get a safe job even if he were to draw a lower salary. Dhanawade had extended his CRPF service despite the fact that he had to serve at the border most of the time.

Dhanawade, a head constable, died on Saturday when terrorists attacked a district police complex, killing eight security personnel. Three terrorists were killed in the gunfight that ensued. Dhanawade’s mortal remains are expected to reach Satara district late on Sunday night.

The serviceman’s mother Janata (70), a schoolteacher, and his wife Megha (35), went into shock on hearing of his demise and had to be admitted in a hospital.
