CRPF soldier booked for raping teacher

Pune: A CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) soldier was booked for raping an information technology (IT) teacher from his own village on the pretext that he intended to marry her. The Pune police on Friday sent a team to the CRPF base at Ramtekadi in Pune, where the accused (27) is posted, to arrest him.

B.S. Kulkarni, police sub inspector, Indapur, said, “The complainant is 25 years old and has been teaching IT at a local e-learning centre for the past two years. She hails from the same village and lives with her parents and siblings. The accused has been a soldier with the CRPF for the past three years.”

“Both knew each other for the past five years as they belong to the same village. According to the complainant, the accused promised her that he would marry her. On that pretext, he used to regularly take her to hotels in Akaluj, Malshiras, Solapur, Indapur and their village, and sexually assault her against her wishes. Tired of the regular sexual assaults, the teacher lodged a FIR against the accused on July 6,” said B.S. Kulkarni, police sub inspector, Indapur.

The police has booked the accused under Indian Penal Code  (IPC) section 376 for rape.
