New Delhi: Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari on Saturday said that Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal is exacting revenge from Delhiites for his party’s defeat in the municipal elections by increasing the water and power tariff.

Mr Tiwari claimed that during the municipal election campaign, Mr Kejriwal had openly said that if the Aam Aadmi Party lost, the water and power tariffs would go up and that now the chief minister was proving his threat correct and trying to break the back of the middle and lower income group families.

“After Kejriwal government’s direct announcement of water tariff hike, Delhi Electric Regulatory Commission (DERC) has issued a public notice for an anticipated 30 per cent increase in power tariff. Now the people of Delhi well understand that the Kejriwal government had actually consented to the Metro tariff hike and all its protest was a deceit to mislead the people,” Mr Tiwari added.
