Man tries to catch robber, shot dead

New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a young man was shot dead on Friday night at Anand Vihar area.

The victim, Mohit (27), was on his way home when he saw two men robbing a businessman. Even though he caught hold of one of the robbers, the second one shot him. The victim died on the spot.

The suspects are on the run and police is on the lookout for them.

The incident took place when a copper businessman was headed for work carrying a bag full of money and other valuables.

He was robbed by bike-borne robbers in Anand Vihar area. When they tried to run away from the spot, the businessman raised an alarm. He tried to chase them along with some passersby.

Meanwhile, Mohit, who was on his way home, saw the accused and caught hold of one of them.

However, the second robber shot him on his head.

Subsequently, the accused managed to run away from the spot.

Mohit was rushed to the nearest hospital, where he was declared brought dead. The police is examining CCTV footages and trying to nab the accused. “We are collecting all the information related to this case. We will arrest the accused as soon as possible,” an officer said.
