New Delhi: Several BJP district presidents got a dressing down from party general secretary (organisation) Siddharthan for not submitting complete details about the newly enrolled members during the membership drive in the national capital.
On Tuesday, Mr Siddharthan called a review meeting of membership drive, which was attended by in-charge and co-incharge of membership drive at block level. Districts presidents were also present in the meeting.
During the review, it came to the notice of Mr Siddharthan that majority of district presidents did not submit the membership book containing details of new members at the party office. According to party sources, Mr Siddharthan pulled up all the district presidents, who failed to submit membership book.
A party leader present in the meeting told this newspaper that average submission of membership book is around 10 to 15 per cent in 12 of the 14 districts. “Low submission of membership book irked Mr Siddharthan,” he explained.
