Delhi Police cracks fake visa racket; 2 held

New Delhi: The East Delhi police arrested two persons who had been running a fake visa company for the last ten years in the Capital.

The police also recovered 42 passports and forged stamp of Kuwait Embassy from their possession.

The accused, identified as Junid Ahmed and Md. Qumesh Ahmed, were running the operations from an office in Shakarpur. They had duped people by not only promising them visas to Gulf countries, but also offered them jobs.

The accused are residents of Uttar Pradesh. According to police, the matter came to light after a complaint was filed on January 24 at Shakarpur police station.

The police said that one Md. Nasruddin, a resident of Ghaziabad narrated how he was duped by Mr Qumesh and Mr Junid.

In his complaint, Mr Nasruddin told the police that last September he got to know about a company with the name ‘Alfa Enterprises’ at Vikas Marg in Shakarpur in Delhi.

The complainant later told the police that the company promised him visa to Gulf countries and also offered jobs. Mr Nasruddin and his friends visited the office and met with Mr Qumesh, the owner of the company.

A team was constituted and it gathered inputs against the bogus company. The team found that Mr Qumesh and Mr Junid were running a fake visa company for the last 10 years.
