Five arrested for attempt to murder disc jockey

New Delhi: Five persons, including a mother of one of the accused, were arrested by Dwarka police for their involvement in an attempt to murder case of a disc jockey (DJ) after he refused to play music late night.

The police said the five accused included  Deepak Joon alias Jugadi, Ravi, Sachin, and Joginder. The mother of Deepak was arrested for destroying evidence and washing Deepak’s blood-stained clothes. The police also recovered two pistols, two empty cartridges and one live cartridge and one car used by accused persons.

The police said that the incident took place on Thursday night in Baba Haridas Nagar. A PCR call was received where the caller informed about firing incident at Krishan Vatika. When the team reached the spot, it was found that a marriage reception was being organised. The victim Bobby Singh and Neeraj were playing DJ in the function.

They stopped playing the music, as it was late hours. But the five accused pressurised the DJ to play. Upon refusing,  Deepak Joon and Ravi fired on Singh who sustained bullet injuries. After that, Deepak and Ravi took him to the hospital and told the doctor that Singh has sustained injury due to an iron screw.

Tthe doctor gave him first aid and discharged him. After that the accused along with his associates, Ravi and Sachin, took an Accent car and shifted Singh in the car and took him throughout the city.

Neeraj, who was following the car, intercepted them and admitted the injured Singh to RTRM Hospital. Upon the victim’s statement, a case of attempt to murder was filed and probe taken up.

The police team conducted raids at several hideouts of the accused persons. Ravi was arrested following a tip-off. He was interrogated and the he told the police about the hideout of the remaining accused who were arrested.
