As per its predictions, the low pressure over northwest Bay of Bengal which is likely to move west-northwestwards.

New Delhi: In a good news for Delhiites, the monsoon is expected to hit Delhi and its neighbouring areas in the next three-four days.

The Indian meteorological department (IMD) has also warned of “heavy to very heavy rains” at isolated places with “extremely heavy fall” at isolated places over Konkan and Goa.

“Monsoon should reach Delhi and the neighbouring parts in the next three-four days. Its advance over parts of Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh will happen during the same period,” said IMD director-general K.J. Ramesh.

Countrywide rainfall has dropped to minus one per cent from the normal level, the first such decline in the season, but good precipitation will compensate for the loss, it said. Infact, as per forecast, the national capital will receive week-long showers from Tuesday.

As per its predictions, the low pressure over northwest Bay of Bengal which is likely to move west-northwestwards. Due to this, humid easterly winds will get prominent and start affecting the Delhi weather from June 28 onwards.

Hot and humid weather conditions are prevailing across Delhi-NCR. On Monday, the maximum temperature settled at 38.6 degrees Celsius, one notch above normal for this part of the season. The minimum temperature was recorded at 30.4 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal.
