Woman raped by 2 cabbies, arrested
The accused, the cab drivers attached to a call centre, used to ferry customers in order to earn extra bucks.
New Delhi: In a quick action, a team of Dwarka police arrested two persons, including a Nepal-based man, for raping a 19-year-old woman late Saturday night.
The police said that the two accused, identified as Vidur and Sumit, in their mid-20s, gave a lift to an Uttam Nagar-based woman on Saturday night. The police said that Vidur was in a cab attached to a call centre.
According to the police, the woman was found in unconscious state on Sunday.
The woman said she had taken a cab from Shankar Chowk area in Gurgaon late on Saturday night. Three persons were already in the cab then, they said.

Vidur and Sumit were in an inebriated condition at the time of incident. After one person got down near Rajokri border area, the vehicle started to roam around in areas near Delhi-Haryana border, a police official said.
The police said that Vidur had allegedly told the woman that they would take a shorter route for Uttam Nagar and they headed towards Delhi-Haryana border.
The cab driver stopped the car at a secluded place and the duo allegedly raped the woman. When she resisted, they threatened to kill her.
When the car coming from Gurgaon entered Dwaraka Sector 21 near the Metro station, the duo got scared seeing the police barricading. They stopped the car and asked the woman to get down and fled from the spot.
The woman then approached the police and lodged a complaint. Following the complaint, a case a registered.
With the help of the last three digits of the cab’s registration number and the duo’s description, the police team with the help of technical assistance managed to locate Vidur and zeroed-in on him. Later based on his instance, the police arrested Sumit.
A police officer said that teams from Gurgaon, Noida and Delhi in a joint operation scoured the details of the cab. After verifying all the cab aggregators and suppliers, the police finally managed to zero-in on the accused
