Drunk man arrested for harassing staff at hotel

New Delhi: Days after a security manager of a five-star hotel in Aerocity was arrested for allegedly harassing a lady staff of the hotel, a drunk man was arrested from Chankyapuri’s Ashok Hotel for allegedly manhandling and harassing a lady deputy manager of the hotel.

A senior police official said that the accused, id-entified as Manoj Gupta and a resident of West Delhi, was arrested after a complaint was lodged by the hotel’s employee. The official said that the accused allegedly misbehaved and manhandled the employee after the victim told him that his room was not booked and he should book it online. 

The official added that the victim requested the accused to clam down or else she would have to call the police. Irked by the deputy manager’s response, the accused started hurling abuses at her. 

“The accused told me that he was not afraid of anyone. He also threatened to rape me if his demands were not met,” read the complaint lodged by the victim. 

The accused was arrested and later released on bail.
