Resident doctors write to government on pay issue

New Delhi: Resident doctors in Delhi have pointed out discrepancies in salaries by accounts department of various Delhi government hospitals among other salary issues post the implementation of 7th Central Pay Commission.

In a letter to the Delhi government, the Federation of Resident Doctors’ Association (FORDA) has alleged that doctors in various hospitals like Maharishi Valmiki Hos-pital, Guru Teg Bahadur and others have received Rs 8,000 less in salaries as against their colleagues in other hospitals. In the case of JR, the difference is almost Rs 6,000, the letter said.

The doctors also said that they were assured that they will get the arrears of 7th CPC by May, but they haven’t received those yet.

“Despite having multiple meetings and regular intimations to the local administration, we are being given false assurances and have been told that arrears can’t be prepared before July,” FORDA president said.

The letter also read that the date on which the salary is credited into account is almost 20th of every month.
