High time for AAP to focus on Assembly polls: Experts

New Delhi: The results of the 17th Lok Sabha elections clearly indicate that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) seems to have lost its relevance in the national capital. All the seven Lok Sabha seats were won by BJP with AAP securing second position in just two seats and third slot in the remaining five constituencies.

The performance of Congress in the elections was far better than AAP as its candidates secured second position in five seats.

According to a senior AAP functionary, the possibility of the party joining hands with Congress before the next year’s Assembly polls seems next to impossible. “This is the right time when the AAP leadership should sit together to chalk out their new strategy for the next Assembly elections,” political pundits said.

A local Congress leader said it was high time for AAP to deliver on each and every promise it had made to the electorate before the Assembly elections.

“Playing blame game with the Centre will cost AAP heavily. At the end of the day, people want results. They are least interested in the AAP versus Centre fight,” he said.
