New Delhi: Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, on Thursday, congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his victory in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls and said that he looks forward to working together with him for the city’s people.

“I congratulate Narendra Modi on this historic win and look forward to working together for the betterment of the people of Delhi,” the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief said in a tweet.

Earlier, on Thursday afternoon, AAP congratulated BJP on its victory and said it hopes that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would do “good work” during his future tenure.

“In a democracy, the mandate of the people is considered to be very powerful. We respect the mandate of India and congratulate BJP on its victory. We offer Prime Minister Narendra Modi best wishes for his future tenure. We hope he would do good work during his future tenure,” AAP spokesperson Saurabh Bhardwaj said.

Mr Kejriwal has been a vocal critic of Mr Modi and has lashed out at him on several occasions during the election campaign, accusing him of indulging in politics of hatred.
