City cops arrest man involved in Rohini shootout

Police said that the accused was involved in a shootout case in Rohini area, a murder case in Bahadurgarh, and several other cases.

New Delhi: The Delhi police has arrested a dreaded criminal belonging to Neeraj Bawana gang. It has also recovered one pistol with three live cartridges and the vehicle used for the commission of crime.

Police said that the accused was involved in a shootout case in Rohini area, a murder case in Bahadurgarh, and several other cases.

On August 19, specific information was received that the accused Ajay would come to meet someone with illegal weapon. At this, the team immediately swung into action and laid a trap near the place. At about 11.50 am, Ajay was spotted and apprehended with a country made pistol and three live cartridges.

Accordingly, a case was registered under Sections 25/54/59 of the Arms Act and an investigation was taken up.

During interrogation Ajay confessed that he was very close to Rajeev Aasodia and after his murder, he came in contact with Naveen Bali, an associate of notorious Neeraj Bawana. Thereafter, he joined Neeraj Bawana gang.

He further confessed about his involvement in Rajesh Durmut murder case, with associates namely Narander, Surender Bamdolia, Raj Kumar alias Bhamba Bawana, Satish Badhania, Praveen alias Mota, and Mohit who was apprehended from the spot.

He also confessed he had received instructions from Naveen Bali, who was lodged at Tihar Jail, to eliminate Durmut. The instruction came through Raj Kumar.
