The incident was reported from the Ghitorni metro station when a train going towards Samaypur Badli was entering platform 2 of the station.

New Delhi: An 18-year-old girl on Saturday allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a moving train at Ghitorni metro station as she was depressed.

Initially, she could not be identified but later she was identified as Shivani, a resident of Ghitorni, police said.

Her father told police that she had recently appeared for Class XII exams and was worried that she hadn't done well. She was depressed for some time now.

Officials said the incident was reported at 10:40 am from the Ghitorni metro station in New Delhi when a train going towards Samaypur Badli was entering platform no 2 of the station.

She was killed on the spot after she allegedly jumped before the train.
