CYSS will bring positive changes in student politics: AAP leader Gopal Rai.
New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) student wing, the Chhatra Yuva Sangharsh Samiti (CYSS), will contest the upcoming student union elections in Delhi University. The CYSS, which was launched by AAP in 2014, contested the DU students’ union (Dusu) polls in 2015 but decided to give it a miss in 2016 and 2017.
“In order to bring positive changes in the student politics, the party’s student wing will participate in the DUSU elections,” senior AAP leader Gopal Rai said on Monday. He made the announcement in his address during a programme on “positive nationalism” organised by the CYSS.
Addressing the students, Mr Rai said that the country today needs positive politics. History is witness to the fact that great revolutions have been brought about by the students and the youth. Today once again, the country needs participation from the youth. The AAP has recorded its participation in the upcoming Dusu elections to give a positive direction to student politics of Delhi,” he said.
The AAP government has initiated positive politics in the national Capital. “The AAP has changed the face of the government schools in Delhi and now is the turn to change the face of the colleges for better,” he said. “Today’s youth is the author of the future of the country and it is pertinent that the young get better access to education. The AAP is the only party in the country that spent 25 per cent of its total budget on the education of the students. The AAP government also started a scheme to provide loan up to Rs10 lakh so that no child is bereft of education due to poverty,” he added.
Mr Rai urged the students to come forward in the effort to give positive direction to the country’s politics.
“During the nation’s independence struggle, some were involved to ruin the country, while the others were engaged in protecting the country with utmost positivity. Today also, one group is indulged in taking the country to the deepest of the trenches,” he said.
