22-yr-old ends life after girl rejects his proposal

New Delhi: A 22 year-old youth committed suicide by hanging himself in northeast Delhi’s Gokulpuri area. The deceased had also attempted suicide on two earlier occasions.

The suicide note recovered from the spot revealed that the deceased was attracted to a girl, but she denied his proposal, upon which he took this step, said the police.

The youth was identified as Yogesh (22)¸ who was a worker in a garment factory. After conducting the post-mortem, the police returned the youth’s body to his family members. The police are also questioning the deceased’s family and relatives about the incident.

According to the police, the family said on Thursday night, Yogesh went to his room after speaking with them and when they called him to come for dinner, he did not respond.

Alarmed, the family members forcibly entered his room only to find him hanging from the ceiling.

The police said when they reached the spot, they took Yogesh down and rushed him to a hospital where he was declared brought dead.

The doctors told the police that the deceased had consumed some poisonous substance but failed, then he tried to slit his wrist, but failed again. Finally, he ended up by hanging himself. Further investigation is under way.
