Amar Chitra Katha, Harry Potter in ICSE syllabus

American cartoonist Art Spiegelman’s Holocaust saga ‘Maus’ are among the other interesting additions to the curriculum.

New Delhi: Popular titles of contemporary literature from Harry Potter series and Amar Chitra Katha to biographies of Abdul Kalam, Anne Frank and Malala Yousofzai are all set to be a part of the curriculum in the ICSE board books.

Besides these popular titles, the Council of Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE), which conducts the ICSE, and ISC board examinations, will also include “The Hobbit” and adventures of Tintin in the syllabi from the next academic year.

Books and characters like Noddy are also being introduced for pre-primary classes. Feluda, Poirot and Holmes, apart from popular graphic novels and American cartoonist Art Spiegelman’s Holocaust saga ‘Maus’ are among the other interesting additions to the curriculum.
