Delhi: 4-yr-old girl molested by neighbour’s friend

New Delhi: A four-year-old girl was allegedly sexually abused by her neighbour's friend in east Delhi's Mandawali area, police said on Saturday.

On February 15, the accused, Nonu (26), allegedly lured the child to his friend's house on the pretext of buying her a chocolate and sexually abused her, a senior police officer said.

The accused had shifted to Delhi from Bihar a few months back and ever since had been frequently visiting his friend's house in the girl's neighbourhood, the official said.

The girl's mother, who reported the incident to police, said her daughter was sitting in her room when she heard Nonu calling out for her. The girl used to play with him whenever he came visiting and like any other day she went to play with him again.

When she came back home, she was crying profusely and after her mother forced her to tell her what had happened, she narrated the entire incident to her, police said, adding the accused had even threatened her not to tell anyone about it.

"Based on the complaint of the girl's mother, a case was registered and the man was arrested the same day itself," the police officer said.
