New Delhi: The forensic report obtained by the Delhi police in connection with the sensational rape case lodged against JNU student Anmol Ratan for allegedly raping a fellow student has indicated that only a bunch of hair recovered by the police belonged to the victim and that there was no other incriminating evidence against Ratan.

The forensic report is now reportedly proving that there were a lot of flaws in the story of the prosecutrix. She has now alleged that Ratan might have tampered with the evidence.

Senior advocate Rajiv Mohan, who is appearing for Ratan, said that the forensic report has exposed the victim. “But as the case is pending in the court, I don’t want to comment more on this issue. We hope to get justice for our client,” he said.

A source close to the investigation said that the forensic report was in favor of Ratan who is currently lodged in judicial custody. The source also said that now if the prosecutrix wants to send Ratan behind the bar, she will have to come up with more evidences.

“We have furnished this forensic report before the fast-track court. Now a lot depends on the testimony of the prosecutirx and a few others things,” the source said. The police had chargesheeted Ratan for allegedly raping the victim. According to the chargesheet, the victim had written on her social networking website’s wall that she wanted to watch a movie and had asked if anyone had its CD. Ratan had then messaged her, saying he had a copy.

Later, he picked her up on August 20 on the pretext of giving her the CD. He then took her to the Brahamputra Hostel where he stayed. Once there, he allegedly offered her a spiked drink and raped her, as per the chargesheet.
