New Delhi: A 52-year-old assistant sub-inspector (ASI) with the Delhi police has died during treatment at the hospital on the early hours of Wednesday.
The deceased, identified as Suresh Kaushik, was undergoing training as an assistant sub-inspector of police at the training centre in Wazirabad since April 1, said a senior police official.
According to the police official, after Suresh complained of uneasiness on Tuesday night, he was immediately rushed to nearby hospital for the treatment.
“Kaushik died during treatment at the hospital. No foul play is suspected. This was a promotional and routine training which was for three months,” said a senior police official.
Meanwhile the family member of Suresh alleged that he had health issue related to heart but despite knowing his health issue he was sent for training.
“Suresh was a heart patient and we had informed the department regarding his condition before training. Suresh was taken to the hospital 40 minutes late,” said a relative.
However, the Delhi police have denied such claims raised by the relatives, and also added that the ASI had never cited any problem during the training in past.
