New Delhi: In order to replicate Uttar Pradesh’s successful booth management system in Delhi, the BJP has assigned the task to about 150-odd senior leaders from western UP to impart training to local leaders for the upcoming civic elections in Delhi.

These leaders are from western Uttar Pradesh  and have been given the responsibility of overseeing the booth management of seven district of BJP in the city.

Uttar Pradesh BJP secretary Chaudhary Devendra Singh told this newspaper that on the direction of the party, about 150 workers from the western part of the state are in the city to help the local unit in managing booth for the April 23 civic polls.

“During recently concluded state assembly polls, in which Bharatiya Janata Party won historic mandate, is only due to the effort and works of booth workers under guidance of party president Amit Shah and the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Booth workers, who apart from spreading the Prime Minister’s message, ensured that on polling day, voters came out and voted. We are sharing our experience of booth management and also explaining its importance for electoral victory,” explained Mr Singh.

BJP workers who are in the city are ditrict-level office bearers or above in Uttar Pradesh. “Groups of workers are district office bearers, district in-charge, assembly in-charge and MLAs and ex-MLAs,” said party leader from western UP Pawan Monga.

These leaders from Uttar Pradesh are convincing party’s rebel candidate and disgruntled workers to come together to ensure BJP’s victory. “We are convincing those who are contesting against BJP official candidate and all the workers who are having their grievances against party to join ongoing campaign to ensure victory of party,” said former MLA from Meerut Amit Agarwal.

These workers are deployed in the Chandni Chowk, Shahdara, Navin Shahdara, Mayur Vihar, Keshavpuram, Karolbagh and North-East district of Delhi BJP. For remaining seven district work has been assigned to leaders from Haryana.

Sources in the Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party  said that these workers are also providing feedback from ground to central leadership.
