New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a Class 7 student sustained serious injuries after his classmate attacked him with a blade.

The incident took place at the Kendriya Vidyalaya near NTPC in Badarpur area.

The police said the victim was attacked by his classmate with a pencil sharpening blade.

DCP (Southeast) Chinmoy Biswal said the incident took place on Friday afternoon after two students fought over sharing a seat. Following this, the accused attacked his classmate on the back with a pencil sharpener.

According to information, the victim and the accused had some argument inside the classroom.

Later during lunch time, when the victim went to toilet, the accused and his friends attacked the victim with a blade. The victim was given initial medication at the school. He received 35 stitches on his back.

The victim was taken to the AIIMS Trauma Centre from where he was discharged later. Mr Biswal said that a probe in the matter is underway. Meanwhile, the victim’s family alleged that the incident took place due to negligence on the part of the school authority.
