Two killed, 7 in head-on collission near Jaitpur
The police said seven others were also injured in the accident.
New Delhi: A head-on collision took the life of father and son while seven others were injured. The accident happened on Tuesday night near Jaitpur when the family was returning from a marriage function.
The car was hit by a sopeeding SUV from the front, which was driven by two youths, and caught fire, according to the police.
The deceased have been identified as Triloki Nath (55) and Vikas Tiwari (21) resident of Trilok Puri.
According to police, both the cars were reportedly speeding and the impact of the crash killed the father-son duo, while seven others were injured.
Of the seven injured, five were relatives of the deceased, while the other two were in the SUV, said the police.
The police said that the incident happened around 2 am. The police added that whether any one was under the influence of alcohol can be clarified only after investigation.
The police said seven others were also injured in the accident.
“When they reached the Meetapur area, a speeding Mahindra XUV collided with their car. A patrolling police van witnessing the mishap, reached the spot. The police along with the help of locals tried to rescue victims. Suddenly, both cars caught fire,” said a senior police official.
