New Delhi: In yet another incident of crime against minors, a girl was allegedly raped at gunpoint by a man in Samaypur Badli police area of Rohini district. The perpetrator is said to have raped the minor for over a week. It can be recalled that last week a woman was raped at gunpoint in Sultanpuri police station limits.
According to police, the 14-year-old minor, who is a student of Class 9, lives with her mother in Samaypur Badli area. The incident came to light when on last Monday, the girl complained of abdominal pain. Her mother took her to a doctor. After conducting the medical check-up, the doctor told the mother that her daughter was being raped regularly. Soon, the police was informed. With the help of a counsellor and her mother, the victim was able to tell the police that her neighbour, who works as a labour in a nearby factory, had been raping her at gunpoint for over a week.
In her statement she further told the police that the perpetrator used to sneak in their house and raped her once her mother left for work. He continued raping the girl on the pretext of threatening her that if she opened her mouth, he would kill her entire family. The scared minor didn’t reveal anything about the incident until she began vomiting continuously and fell ill, said the police.
Based on the girl’s statement, the Badlipur police has taken up a case against the absconding accused and has launched a manhunt to nab the fleeing culprit.
Last week, a 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped in outer Delhi’s Sultanpuri area by her two cousins while they held the victim’s sister at gunpoint. The sisters had come to Rohini from Moradabad to attend a wedding and decided to extend their stay at their maternal grandmother’s house in view of the summer holidays.
