New Delhi: Water supply will be affected in many areas of the city, especially North Delhi, for five days as production of water at the Wazirabad treatment plant has been curtailed.

This happened due to a sudden drop of pond-level in river Yamuna and reduced the supply of water in Munak Carrier Lined Canal, following which water production was curtailed upto 30 per cent at the 40 MGD (million gallons per day) treatment plant at Wazirabad on Friday evening.

According to officials of the DJB, shortage will continue till the evening of May 16 (Tuesday). The water supply was available at low pressure in most North Delhi areas and some West Delhi areas. The DJB said that tankers would be available on demand in areas facing water shortage. and some water will be diverted from Chandrawal treatment plant.
