Man fires in air to shoot TikTok video on his birthday, arrested
The accused was identified as Faizan, a resident of Suiwalan in Chandni Mahal.
New Delhi: A 32 year-old man, who had allegedly posted a video of himself brandishing a pistol and then firing from it on TikTok during his birthday celebration, has been arrested by the Delhi police. The incident took place on Saturday in Central Delhi’s Chandni Mahal area.
The accused was identified as Faizan, a resident of Suiwalan in Chandni Mahal.
“The video was first uploaded on TikTok and later on the video went viral on different social media websites. After watching and examining the video, the place of occurrence was found to be a public street at Suiwalan in Chandni Mahal,” said the senior police official.
According to DCP (Central district) Mandeep Singh Randhawa, on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, information about a video of firing in the air and uploading it on TikTok came to the notice of the police personnel.
“Further, a team was deputed to inquire the matter and take legal action at once. After thorough examination, it was found that the incident took place at Suiwalan in Chandni Mahal on Saturday evening while Faizan was celebrating his 32nd birthday,” said the DCP.
