NEW DELHI: The Transgender Resource Centre (TRC) of Delhi University will hold open sessions to help transgender students learn about the admission process. TRC has decided to take this step after it failed to admit students in the third gender category last year. It has decided to opt for a different way to reach out to the transgender students this year.

TRC has decided to invite transgender students to the university campus for multiple open sessions that would be focused on helping students to get information about online admission process and courses that are offered by School of Open Learning (SOL) and Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU).

“We will hold a series of discussions throughout the week at the centre, which operates from the university’s Faculty of Social Sciences. Several students are unaware of their right to education, the concept of inclusive education, some do not even know about the Supreme Court’s decision to decriminalise section 377,” Delhi University’s Department of Adult Continuing Education and Extension associate professor Rajesh said.
