Youth hangs self, probe underway

New Delhi: In a shocking incident a 25-year-old youth committed suicide by hanging himself in Delhi’s Lahori Gate area on Thursday late night.

It was also alleged that the deceased was video calling his female friend in Rajasthan and she provoked him to take this step.

However police has denied such claims.

The deceased was identified as, Giriraj (25) primarily belongs to Rajasthan and works as weaver in Old Delhi’s Fatehpuri area, he lives with some of his co-workers, said the police.

The deceased’s friends alleged that, Giriraj was talking to his friend on video call. They further claimed that his female friend was asking him what can he do for her and that time the deceased said he can die for her.

Later when they returned after buying vegetables they saw the body of Giriraj hanging from the ceiling.

However the police denied these claims they said, during the incident deceased’s phone was on charging and preliminary probe reveals that there was no such call record, which his friends were alleging.

According to the police, the body has been returned to the family members after post mortem and further probe is underway.
