New Delhi: A woman sub inspector (SI) was allegedly mercilessly beaten along with her son and husband after a gang of unidentified miscreants allegedly barged inside her house and attacked them.

The injured sub inspector, identified as Birmati, had returned home from duty on Wednesday night when the incident took place. A resident of Kailashpuri under Sagarpur police station limits, the SI lives in a rented house along with her husband and son.

In her complaint, the injured SI — who is attached to Palam police station — alleged that as she reached home on Wednesday night, her husband allegedly told her that five to six men had come to the house and had threatened him and the family. By the time, Birmati could think of anything, there was a knock at the door. When she went to answer the frantic knocks, a gang of six men allegedly barged inside her house and began assaulting the family. The police suspect that a rivalry from the professional front could be the reason behind the attack.
