Auto-lifter held by cops after a brief struggle

New Delhi: With the arrest of one auto-lifter, the Delhi police on Saturday claimed to have solved the case of three stolen motorcycles.

The 26-year-old accused, who was  identified as Sunny Paruthi is a resident of Najafgarh. The police said that the accused was preparing for Chartered Accountancy (CA) course and used to stay away from his family.

According to the police on Saturday, two constables, who were on picket duty at Dwarka, during checking had noticed that a person astride a motorcycle was coming towards them.

Upon seeing the police party, the man tried to escape, but was arrested by the picket staff after a brief struggle.

“During a sustained interrogation, the accused told the police about two more stolen motorcycles, which weee stolen from Dwarka (North)," said Shibesh Singh, deputy commissioner of police (Dwarka).
